Harvard-Westlake is filled with countless, student-led clubs that are inclusive, diverse and there is a place for everyone, from Anime club to Ethics Bowl. One of the clubs that I look forward to every week is HW Venture, a club at both the Upper School and Middle School. Venture is an entrepreneurial club that challenges students to activate, innovate, and collaborate. Students at Venture believe that they are the future of our world and embrace this opportunity to learn about being the best entrepreneurs they can be. Venture hosts speaker events, workshops, helps student business start-ups, and more. At Venture, we have the privilege of being connected to a wide network of entrepreneurs and we value the people that we work with. For example, at a Middle School speaker event, we were able to speak with Natasha Case, a Harvard-Westlake alumna and co-founder of Coolhaus Ice Cream, and learn from her fascinating experiences. Then, later in the year we were able to take those lessons from her beautiful stories and apply them to the Candy Booth we managed at Homecoming. These experiences are what make HW Venture and Harvard-Westlake so great. The opportunity to try hard, learn, and reflect are skills that I am already applying to my life.
